CMCH launches new OPD services

New OPD services in the ENT Department of the Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, were inaugurated by SP Oswal, chairman and managing director of Vardhman Group.

He donated the latest cutting-edge technology equipment for advanced medical and surgical care of patients suffering from ear, nose and throat diseases.

Oswal said: “ENT diseases, especially head and neck cancers, are increasing in Punjab and it can be a cause of lot of sufferings, pain and death, if not treated appropriately on time. Advanced care for these patients is available at a very few centres in this region. At the same time, the treatment cost is very expensive due to high cost involved in procuring the equipment making treatment beyond the reach of common man.”

Dr William Bhatti, director CMC and Hospital, said: “The new and improved workstation and various equipment procured in the operation theatre will provide a quality services to patients at affordable rates. The ENT department also offers high-quality advanced endoscopic and head and neck surgical procedures with the latest operating instruments. The addition of such equipment will bring the best in class care within the reach of the needy.”

Dr Navneet Kumar, professor and head of department of ENT at CMCH, said: “We have added an advanced OPD workstation with latest attachments. We have also procured specialised instruments for minimally invasive nasal and head and neck surgery.”
