Panipat, August 23
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday sent out a clear message to ticket aspirants that candidates for Assembly polls would be decided by BJP high command, and gathering large crowds or spending money on rallies would not influence the selection process.
Khattar stated this while addressing the “jan ashirwaad yatra” in Israna constituency, where he was welcomed by Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar along with other leaders. On seeing ticket hopefuls with a large number of supporters and roads dotted with banners and hoardings, the Chief Minister did some straight talking with them on the nomination process.
The Chief Minister was welcomed at 16 places from Dariyapur to Shiv Chowk in the Panipat Urban constituency. He was accompanied by MP Sanjay Bhatia, MLAs Rohita Rewri, Mahipal Dhanda and other leaders.
The Chief Minister while addressing the gathering at Shiv Chowk on the Sanoli road said that he had started the yatra to take blessings of the people. He said a number of developmental works had been done in the last five years, and double the works would be done in the next five years.
Khattar announced the construction of a war memorial and museum at Kala Amb in the constituency.
