NSUI submits memorandum

The NSUI campus unit of Himachal Pradesh University on Friday submitted a memorandum to the head of the Law Department. The students stressed the need to repair the leaking roof, which was making it difficult for them to sit in classrooms. They demanded safe drinking water. Vinu Mehta said they were hopeful that the administration would  meet justified demands of the students at the earliest. 

Plantation drive at St Bede’s 

The NSS society of St Bede’s College organised a plantation drive in the college. The students were taken to a forest to make them understand the importance of plantation of saplings. Principal of the college Nandini Pathania stressed the need for enhancing and protecting the green cover.  She said steps needed to be taken to mitigate the effects of climate change. 

Declamation contest at solan school

Inter-school Gita shaloka pronunciation and declamation contests were held at Geeta Adarsh Vidyalaya, Solan, in which 26 schools participated. Participants’ performances won the hearts of the audience and they received an overwhelming response. Gurukul International Public School, Solan, was declared the winner. School principal Dr Sneh Sharma and joint principal Pamposh Gupta were also present on the occasion. They lauded the efforts of the students. 

School board extends date 

The Himachal Board of School Education has extended the date for submitting the original documents for revaluation of regular compartment and division improvement examinations held in March 2019. The last date has been extended till August 29. Chairman of the board Dr Suresh Kumar Soni has made it clear that no documents would be accepted after the extended date. The board has also displayed the list of the students, who have not submitted their documents on the website. They can send certificates through post or submit by hand.

Cleanliness drive in college

Students of Sanjauli College were administered swachhta oath during the one-day camp organised by the NSS unit of the college. Over 200 students carried out a cleanliness drive on the campus.
