Thieves decamped with Rs 40,000 and dry fruits worth Rs 20,000 from a shop located on Court Road by breaking open the shutter.

A team of Kotwali police reached the spot. On the complaint of the shopkeeper, the police have registered a case against unidentified persons.  

Shop owner Prem Garg, a resident of Mohalla Seediyawala, informed the police that on the intervening night of August 21-22, some unidentified persons broke open the shutter of his shop and stole Rs 40,000 and dry fruits worth Rs 20,000. He came to know about the incident on August 22, the police added. The police have started a probe.
