PAP players bag 21 gold medals

JALANDHAR: As many as 24 players from PAP participated in World Police games and won 21 gold medals, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals.

As many as 24 players from PAP participated in World Police games and won 21 gold medals, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals. The games commenced on August 8 and concluded on August 18 in China.

Sub-Inspector Jasdeep Singh, pocketed gold medal in shot put and Head Constable Prabhjot Singh bagged gold in discus throw in athletics category. Navjot Singh clinched gold in Decathlon. He aso won silver in Javelin throw. Jasleen Singh Saini won gold in Judo (U-66) kg category.

Athletes Arvinda Rathwa, Veerpal Kaur, Ravinder Kaur too won gold. Harpreet Sandhu won the gold medal in the 85-kg category wrestling championship. In April this year, he also bagged a silver medal in the Asian Wrestling Championship 2019.

Before this victory, he had won bronze medals in the 2016, 2017 and 2018 in Asian Championships. Harpreet said he was also the winner of the 2016 and 2017 Commonwealth Championships and had got the better of his rivals in the national games for the past 10 years. — TNS
