At the age of 45, Dr Jas Kohli, a cosmetic surgeon, decides to explore something new. Something like writing which could translate all his experience, adventures and ordeals stored in his memory basket into words for others to relate to.

“First book,” he says, “is always semi- autobiographical. Also, eventually when you are one or two book-old author, imagination takes over and you will automatically start forming various stories around your realities or day-to-day incidents. I personally decided to make humour my shield while writing the incidents that have happened in my life or my friends’ lives.”

His first book, Anything To Look Hot, was a humourous take on Bollywood celebs and their plastic surgeons and it was released in 2015. It took him three years to complete his second book Lights! Scalpel! Romance! a humour-fiction novel. He says, “I feel there is a paucity of humour in Indian literature and I intend to work on what I know best apart from my field of work in medicine.”

Since he writes mostly after finishing off his day’s work, with a peaceful mind, he admits that there is nothing like you don’t get to spend quality time with your family.
