Draining out of water from artificial lake continues

Teams of the NDRF, Fire Brigade and Home Guard jawans continued draining out water from the artificial lake that had been formed near Khadertar village in Danni gram panchayat on the third day today.

SDM Surinder Thakur said 34-hour draining had reduced the water level by 2.5 feet. The operation would continue till the situation became normal.

Meanwhile, Sanjiv Bhatnagar, Divisional Commissioner, Kangra, who visited the spot, reviewed the ongoing operation and also met the families who had been shifted to safer places. He said now the flood fear had subsided in the areas downstream. He also directed the local administration to assess the loss of agriculture land and submit its report. A landslide had blocked the flowing course of the rivulet. — OC
