Two trains cancelled, several others affected due to floods

The rail timetable continued to remain erratic due to heavy floods in many parts of the country even though situation seemed to have eased a wee bit in Punjab.

The Railways announced cancellation of two trains for the day, one train was rescheduled for late departure, three others were diverted via alternate route and many more were running behind schedule.

Railway officials said 01708 Attari-Jabalpur Special Express and 19613 Ajmer-Amritsar Express were cancelled and 14673 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express was rescheduled by 1.15 hrs.

Three trains – 13308 Firozpur-Dhanbad Ganga Sutlej Express (between Firozepur and Ludhiana), 14650 Amritsar-Jaynagar Saryu Yamuna Express (between Sabzi Mandi and Ghaziabad) and 15708 Amritsar-Katihar Amrapali Express (between Ambala Cantt to Gorakhpur) were diverted via alternate routes.

18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Muri Express (4.10 hrs), 22431 Allahabd-Udhanpur Superfast Express (3.20 hrs), 12919 Indore-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Express (2.05 hrs), 11057 CST Mumbai-Amritsar Dadar Express (1.30 hrs), 14617 Banmankhi-Amritsar Jansewa Express (1.20 hrs), 13307 Dhanbad-Firozepur Ganga Sutlej Express (1.15 hrs), 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express (1.10 hrs), 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail (1.10 hrs), 12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Durgiana Express (1.05 hrs).
