BATHINDA: The Mansa police on Tuesday claimed to have seized 75,000 pills worth Rs 14.62 lakh from a Cruze carat Bhikhi. The police also arrested two persons, while one suspect managed to escape from the spot. Mansa SSP Dr Narinder Bhargav said a police team from the Bhikhi police station was present near the Radha Soami Satsang Bhawan in Bhikhi when the suspects — Samleem Khan and Sambhu Singh — coming in the Cruze car were arrested. However, Jagga Singh managed to flee from the spot. The police recovered 75,000 pills from the car. A case has been registered against the suspects. TNS
College student shines in exam
MUKTSAR: Parminder Kaur, a student of Dasmesh Girls’ College at Badal village here, has secured the top position in the MA (Punjabi) fourth semester exams by securing 1,282 marks out of the total 1,600, the results of which were declared by Panjab University. SS Sangha, principal of the college, said four out of the top 10 students in the MA (Punjabi) fourth semester exams belonged to their college. Ramandeep Kaur got the second position in the university with 1,264 marks, Kulwinder Kaur fifth position with 1,219 marks and Manpreet Kaur got ninth position with 1,204 marks. TNS
