Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, inaugurated a two-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) on “Combat Trauma Care-Emerging Trends and Controversies” organised by the Command Hospital, Northern Command.

Lt Gen A Banerji, DGMS (Army), was also present for the event. The keynote address was delivered by Prof MC Misra, Ex-Director of Apex Trauma Centre, All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, an authority on trauma care in India. 

A large gathering of doctors of Armed Forces Medical Service from various hospitals across the country attended the event.

Topics related to combat trauma care across various disciplines of surgery and allied specialties were deliberated upon. 

The event provided an insight into the challenges of combat trauma care, besides achieving its objective of educating budding surgeons with an aim to ensure state-of-the-art medicalcare and technology on the edge of battlefield, to save precious lives of those who put themselves in the line of fire in safeguarding the nation.
