The District Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, has become the second government hospital in the state to get National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
The certification has been accorded in recognition of the “high standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospital” in different sectors of healthcare.
“The facility has scored overall 93 per cent and is meeting all criteria required for NQAS as communicated by Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Union MoH&FW, Government of India, in a letter addressed to the state government,” said Dr Chander Parkash, Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
The empanelled external assessors’ certification team, which examined the facilities in the hospital and patient amenities from July 22 to July 24, rated the Gandhi Nagar hospital as “quality certified” under NQAS when it comes to hospital hygiene and quality standards.
“The hospital shall receive a grant of Rs 20 lakh as part of the NQAS certification at the rate of Rs 10,000 per bed. The certification will be for a period of three years, following which there will be re-inspection,” Dr Parkash said.
