Protesters torch parliament building in Papua
Manokwari: Thousands of protesters in Indonesia’s West Papua province on Monday set fire to a local parliament building in a violent protest against the alleged insults and arrests of Papuan students. The angered mob set fire to tyres and twigs on several roads leading to a seaport, shopping centres and offices in Manokwari, said Vice Governor Mohammad Lakotani. “The city’s economy has been paralyzed by the demonstrators,” he said.
