New Delhi: Two bike-borne men allegedly snatched the mobile phone of Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta’s wife in front of the FICCI auditorium in Mandi House, the police said on Monday. In a complaint registered with the police, Aparna Mehta said the incident occurred on Sunday while she was walking on the road. “A case has been registered and we are looking into the matter,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Eish Singhal said.  PTI

Man involved in 22 cases of theft arrested

The A 47-year-old man involved in 22 cases of theft across the city was arrested from southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area, said the police on Monday. The accused, Rajender Kumar is a resident of outer Delhi’s Mangolpuri area. He was also declared a ‘bad character’ by Mangolpuri police station, they said. A loaded country made pistol along with two live cartridges were seized from the accused and six stolen mobile phones and two stolen motorcycles were later recovered at his behest, said the police. 5 held for thrashing 21-year-old youth to death

Five men were arrested for allegedly killing a 21-year-old man over suspicion that he had an extra-marital affair with the sister of two of the accused, police said on Monday. Netaram was allegedly beaten to death on Friday in outer Delhi's Ranhola area, they said, adding that the accused even took the victim to the hospital but fled after learning that he had succumbed to injuries.
