The rift in the Congress came to the fore yet again with state Congress president Ashok Tanwar stating that former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had indulged in indiscipline by speaking against the party at the ‘parivartan’ rally in Rohtak, and he would bring the matter to the notice of the party high command.

Talking to The Tribune over phone today, Tanwar asserted: “The poll-related manifesto is a document of a party and not of any individual. Thus, the announcements which were made at the rally are an attempt to weaken the party”.

The state president said that any leader could hold a rally but to speak against the official stand of the party at a public forum obviously amounted to indiscipline. “A man who had been Chief Minister of Haryana was lashing out at the Congress. It apparently is an act of indiscipline,” he said, adding that Hooda had no right as a party leader to constitute a 25-member committee.

“As state president, I will communicate the developments which obviously have an anti- party tone and tenor to the party high command,” he stated.

Hooda had attacked the Congress on Sunday over its stand on the abrogation of Article 370. Hooda had also announced a 25-member committee, including 12 Congress state legislators, to deliberate on his next move.
