Amritsar, August 18

The SGPC has decided to paint all buildings of the historic Sultanpur Lodhi town in white colour, ahead of the 550th gurpurb of Guru Nanak Dev.

SGPC chief Gobind Singh Longowal said the help of ‘sangat’ and all Sikh organisations would be taken in this task. He said the task would be completed before the historic gurpurb.

He called upon the Sikh sangat to contribute by abiding to the concept of ‘Tera-Tera’, numerically translated as 13-13. “So, they must contribute in denomination of Rs 13, Rs 1,300 and Rs 13,000, as per their capacity”.

Earlier, the historic town of Anandpur Sahib was painted in uniform white colour to commemorate the tercentenary of Khalsa Sirjana Diwas in 1999. —TNS
