2 arrested for looting two petrol stations

KARNAL: The Karnal police have arrested two persons in two incidents of petrol pump loot. They have recovered a country-made pistol, a cartridge and two motorcycles used in the crimes from their possession.

The Karnal police have arrested two persons in two incidents of petrol pump loot. They have recovered a country-made pistol, a cartridge and two motorcycles used in the crimes from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Prince, a resident of Bir Badalwa, and Vishal, a resident of Gonder village in the district, and their accomplice Pawan, a resident of Samalkha in Panipat district.

The trio looted cash from the petrol pump of Roop Narayan Chanana near the Namaste chowk in Karnal city on July 27. They also fired at the co-driver of a truck parked there, injuring him. The accused also looted the petrol pump of former MLA and INLD leader Rekha Rana in Gharaunda on July 28.

SP Surinder Singh Bhoria told mediapersons that a team of CIA-2 led by ASI Parveen Kumar arrested Prince from Taraori on August 15, who spilled the beans. On his disclosure, the police arrested Vishal from Sector 12 here on August 16. During investigation, the police came to know that Vishal was out on bail in a snatching case, while several cases of murder, attempt to murder, and loot were registered against Pawan. — TNS
