Ajit Road residents write to SSP over nuisance

Residents of Ajit Road have written to the SSP, Bathinda, against the nuisance created by young boys and girls in the area.

They alleged as Ajit Road had been a hub of ILETS centres and PGs, young boys kept making rounds on their vehicles behind girls. They even made indecent gesture in full public view, which was something that could not be accepted as families live in this area.

In the letter, residents Vinod Arora, Rajinder Singh, Gursewak Singh, Harinder Singh Bhatti, Hardeep Singh Grewal, Patwinder Singh, Amarjit Singh, Varinder Singh, Baldev Singh Kamal, Parshan Singh Sandhu, Sachin, Kulwinder Singh, Tejinder Singh and others stated that, “we wanted to bring to your notice that they are highly affected due to the nuisance created by young boys and girls staying in PGs on Ajit Road.”

They alleged that PG owners did not follow any norms due to which these youngsters kept on moving in and out day and night. Moreover, these youngsters drink beers openly and play loud music in their vehicles in the streets, due to which their lives have been totally disturbed. They also claimed that boys keep on standing in streets and keep on passing lewd remarks on girls passing from there and this has become a routine practice.

Residents demanded that CCTV cameras should be installed in Ajit road areas, so that the vehicle number should be noted of the persons who repeatedly keep on making rounds of Ajit road. Moreover, such incidents of indecent gesture would also be capture on cameras and further action should be taken against the accused.

It is pertinent to mention that brawls, indecent gestures, lewd comments and rash driving have become a common sight on Ajit Road. It is due to the commercialization of the educational institutes with the presence of a large number of teenagers.

The complaint
