Chandigarh, August 10

Courtesy Pracheen Kala Kendra, the art lovers witnessed a unique performance of Kathak dance on a socially relevant theme titled “Umeed” by a Singapore-based Kathak danseuse Sunena Gupta at ML Koser Indoor Auditorium today.  She presented her most recent production “Umeed: Colours of Hope”.

Gupta with the guidance of Singapore-based Guru Mulla Afsar Khan,   presented a unique contemporary concept and described the story of the journey of a young girl navigating her way through struggles with mental health, chronic illness and self-image issues.

Gupta felt that with her story of hope, she had urged those, who have lived this journey, to hold out a helping hand and those who were struggling to take one. — OC
