Rajesh Kumar, presently posted as a Deputy Superintendent of Police at the district headquarters of Narnaul, has been demoted to the post of inspector for his alleged mishandling and unfair investigation into the murder of a woman in Charkhi Dadri in 2005.
Though his demotion order was issued by the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) on April 23, the case came to the fore today when the order went viral on the social media.
“It is clear from the charge sheet and inquiry report that misconduct on the part of Rajesh Kumar is deliberate and serious. In view of the observation of the Supreme Court and the fact that the charges have been proved in the regular departmental inquiry, it has been decided that Rajesh Kumar, HPS, be awarded the punishment of reduction in rank to that of inspector,” reads the order.
The order further states that accordingly, the Governor of Haryana was pleased to impose a penalty upon Rajesh Kumar of reduction in rank to the post of inspector from DSP.
“A resident of Koliyan Mohalla in Narnaul recently sent a complaint to the CM demanding execution of the order issued by the Additional Chief Secretary as Rajesh Kumar is still working on the post of DSP. He also demanded action against the officer responsible for implementing the orders,” sources said.
Mahendragarh SP Chander Mohan said information was being collected while district police spokesman Naresh Kumar said Rajesh Kumar had filed an appeal before the CM but it was lying pending.
Rajesh Kumar could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
