3 young snatchers land in police net

Three youths, including a son of a Punjab Police Home Guards volunteer, have been arrested in a mobile phone snatching case.

A team of the Sector 39 police station arrested the suspects, who have been identified as Jaskaran (22), alias Kalu, a resident of Dhanas Colony, Bablu (18), alias Gurrila, and Ajay (18), both residents of Dhanas.

The police said in his complaint, Gagan had reported that on the night of June 11 he was returning home on a bicycle when three motorcycle-borne miscreants snatched his mobile phone near the Sector 25/38 light point.

The police have recovered the snatched mobile phone from the suspects.

One of the suspects, Bablu is a son of a Punjab Police Home Guards volunteer. “Bablu sells clothes in Sector 19 market,” the police said.

Bablu also has a case of vehicle theft registered against him at the Sarangpur police station in 2016.

Meanwhile, Ajay works as a peon with a private company in Sector 35.
