Amritsar: Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), Amritsar Central, commemorated its foundation day by holding a workshop. BVP president Prof HS Walia inaugurating the workshop for the orientation of its members. He said the BVP was established in 1963 to spread the philosophy of Swami Vivekanand among youth. The BVP also undertakes various projects and cultural activities to disseminate information regarding India's rich culture and great civilisation. TNS

Allotment of stations sought  

Amritsar: The Democratic Teachers’ Front has urged the state government to release the station allotment list for the recently promoted staff under the master cadre. Ashwani Awasthi, district president of the Front, said, “The department has always been unfair to the cadre in relation to their promotions. These orders are of no use, if the stations are not allotted to them.” The organisation has sought immediate redressal. TNS
