Amritsar, July 22

Pensioners on Monday said any adverse change in the dearness allowance (DA) would not be tolerated. Their leader Madan Gopal said, "Since the new government assumed the office, DA has not been released on time. Pensioners fear that the government is working on a policy of delinking the DA of the state employees from the Central employees, which will not be tolerated," he said.

Madan Lal Mannan and Yashdev Dogra said the DA of the state employees was made on par with the Union Government employees in 1967-68  and grant-in-aid scheme to privat schools was also sanctioned. — TNS
