Three get 10-year jail for gang rape

SONEPAT, JULY 22

DR Chalia, Additional District and Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court), on Monday sentenced Dhyan Chand, Amit and Praveen, all residents of a village falling under the jurisdiction of Rai police station in the district, to 10 years of imprisonment for the gang rape of a 15-year-old minor of their village.

In her complaint to the Rai police, the victim had stated that the accused gang-raped her on October 29, 2016, and threatened to kill her and her family members if she told about the crime to her family members or the police. However, after sometime she became four-month pregnant and narrated the crime to her family members. — OC
