Muktsar: A man lost his life in a collision between a jeep and a bus at Maha Badhar village near here. The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Jagjit Singh of the same village.

Muktsar: A man lost his life in a collision between a jeep and a bus at Maha Badhar village near here. The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Jagjit Singh of the same village. The mishap took place when he was returning to his village on the jeep. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The police have started an investigation and registered a case in this regard. The bus driver, however, managed to flee from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind. The police have impounded both vehicles. TNS

Admissions: Last date extended 

Bathinda: The admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Government Rajindra College has been extended to July 31. Punjabi University has issued a latest circular in this regard. However, the dates have been revised only for fresh admissions. Earlier, the last date of admission without late fees was July 20. Principal Jyoti Parkash said, “According to the latest orders of Punjabi University, the admission process has been extended to July 31.” TNS

Health staff to go on strike 

Bathinda: Members of the Punjab Health Department Subordinate Officers’ Clerical Association to observe pen-down strike from July 22 to 24 for non-fulfilment of their demands. They submitted a memo to the Civil Surgeon. TNS
