In a hit-and-run case, a Himachal Pradesh resident suffered serious injuries after a rashly driven car hit his stationary scooty near the Moli bus stand in Barwala.

Karan Kalyan of Balmiki Colony in Nahan told the police that he left Nahan on his scooty to meet his relatives in Ambala on July 13. He said when he reached the bus stand around 10 pm, he parked his scooty there. A rashly driven car coming from Shahzadpur hit his scooty. The car also hit his left leg and arm. He also suffered injuries on his right eye.

Karan said passers-by shifted him to the CHC, Raipur Rani, from where doctors referred him to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6. He was further referred to the PGI where he fell unconscious.

After getting a report from the CHC, Raipur Rani, the police visited the Civil Hospital on July 15. However, they could not find him there as his surname was mentioned as Kaler instead of Kalyan.

On July 17, the police received a call from the PGI after the victim regained consciousness. The police recorded his statement and registered a case against the car driver. TNS
