Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), on Friday organised a water awareness camp under Jal Shakti Abhiyan at Booh in which farmers from different villages participated. Umesh Kumar, director infrastructure, Government of India, was the chief guest. Dr Balwinder Kumar, Deputy Director (Training), KVK, advised the farmers to make judicious use of irrigation water and asked farmers to keep water stagnant in paddy field only for first 15 days after transplanting and thereafter apply irrigation water for two days after the standing water leached down. The farmers present in the camp assured that they would make judicious use of water. —OC
