Amritsar, July 18

Waterlogging on the elevated road near Alpha Mall has been irking the commuters. Motorists, mostly those on two-wheelers, face difficulty on this stretch even after moderate rain. A local activist has filed a complaint with the Lok Adalat in this regard.

The elevated road was constructed several years ago. Due to sloping error, rainwater often accumulates on one end of the slope. Instead of repairing it, officials concerned look the other way. The size of potholes has been increasing day by day. Water accumulation leads to traffic jams on the elevated road.

Social activist Parmod Chandar Bali, who has filed a complaint with the Lok Adalat, said, “The problem has been there since the construction of the elevated bridge. For years, they are not solving it. Now, I have filed a complaint with the Lok Adalat against the Municipal Corporation.”
