MC workers to be verified

The MC has been conducting verification of sanitation workers (safai karamcharis) in the city. Joint Commissioner Nitish Singla had issued instructions regarding the same on July 10. He deputed five officials to conduct the verification in all five urban constituencies.

As per the instructions, officials have to submit information regarding sanitation workers to the Joint Commissioner’s office within seven days. Officials in the Central constituency conducted a check and found five employees absent while seven didn’t have identity proofs.

There have been complaints that permanent sanitation workers have hired workers at their own level to carry out the tasks meant for the former. — TNS
