Unidentified persons booked for illegal mining

The police have booked unidentified persons for illegal sand mining on the land of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in Pinjore. Recently, a complaint was submitted to the Mining Department by NK Payal, HSVP executive engineer, mentioning illegal mining going on at a plot in Sector 27, Pinjore, owned by the agency. He also submitted a video as proof of the illegal mining in the plot.

Acting on the complaint, a team of the Mining Department visited the spot for inspection. They met HSVP watchman Suraj Bhan, who showed them the land, where mining was done illegally. He also told the team about tipper truck and a JCB machine seen in the video .

Officials of the Mining Department said 1,000 square feet of gravel was stolen from the land. A case has been registered under the Mines and Minerals Act and Section 379, IPC, at the Pinjore police station. — TNS
