Poor sanitation at Daba Road (street no. 2) has left residents and industrialists a harried lot.
In a recently held meeting, members of the Small Scale Association of Daba Road highlighted the sorry state of affairs.
“Repairing potholes with sand is just a temporary measure. There is complete mess during monsoon. Sand washes out of deep potholes with rainwater and make roads slippery. Commuting on such roads is quite risky, especially at night,” said Gaurav, a member of the association.
Another member said potholes with stagnant water become breeding grounds for mosquitoes which can lead to outbreak of diseases, including dengue and malaria.
“We request the Mayor and MC Commissioner to kindly look into the matter and order immediate recarpeting of roads. Sanitation conditions should be improved in the area,” he said.
The Mayor could not be contacted on his mobile phone despite repeated attempts.
