The Pracheen Kala Kendra celebrated Guru Purnima by organising a special vocal recital by young vocalist duo of Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra at Mini Tagore Theatre here today.

After Dr Samira Koser explained the significance of 'guru-shishya' tradition in which the guru is extolled as supreme for imparting education to disciple the vocalist duo of Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra, foremost disciples of legendary Rajan-Sajan Mishra from Banaras opened up with exposition of raga 'miyan malhar' through an 'alaap' and three compositions -- 'karim naam tero', 'aali umar ghumar ghan' and 'ghan ghanan ghor' in slow fast tempos.

Former PU VC Prof Arun Grover, Guru Pandit Yashpaul, Ravinder Singh and Kendra registrar Dr Shobha Koser and Sajal Koser honoured the artistes.
