Manav Rachna International School, Mohali, organised the District Rifle Shooting Championship under the supervision of the District Rifle Shooting Association (DRSA), Mohali, at Shooting Range, Manav Rachna Sports Academy. Several professional and veteran shooters from around the region participated in rifle and pistol events in all categories under NR and ISSF rules. The event culminated with an award ceremony.

St Xavier’s, Chandigarh

St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, organised its investiture ceremony for the session 2019-20. The ceremony was graced by Principal Ivorine Castellas, who conferred badges on the newly formed council. Head boy Akshat Aggarwal and head girl Drew Angelina West administered the oath to their fellow council members.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh, Chandigarh

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, celebrated Van Mahotsava. The annual tree plantation drive, along with a rally on water conservation was carried out. School manager Surinder Singh and principal Jaswinder Kaur planted various saplings. Around 300 students participated in the rally.

Adarsh Public, Chandigarh

A story-telling session was organised at Adarsh Public Smart School for classes pre-Nursery and Nursery. Teachers entertained the students with flash cards and puppets. Students were made to understand the power of language through voice modulation and gestures.

Govt Model, Sector 37, Chandigarh

A tree plantation drive was organised at Governmnet Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, Chandigarh. Principal Nirmal Sharma, along with the eco-club in charge Deshkali, staff members, SMC members and students planted saplings in the school ground.

Green Castle, Chandigarh

To make children understand about the significance of yellow colour, various colourful activities were conducted in the pre-Nursery & Nursery classes of Green Castle School, Sector 47-C, Chandigarh. Students and teachers came in yellow dresses. Tiny tots participated in drawing, colouring and paper craft activities.

KB DAV, Chandigarh

Class VI students of KB DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 7, came forward to spread awareness about acute encephalitis syndrome or brain fever. They presented a play on encephalitis. They enacted as young reporters, doctors, patients. Principal Pooja Prakash lauded the efforts made by the staff and the students.

The British, Panchkula

Students of The British School, Sector 12, Panchkula, took part in the International Writer’s Day celebrations. Students spoke about their favourite writers. The activity assessed the students on the basis of listening, speaking and writing skills, which was followed by a general discussion among the teachers and the students.
