Stir over lathicharge on parents

Activists of the Nagrik Adhikar Manch today took out a protest march here against police lathicharge on protesting parents and registering false cases against 15 of them during their peaceful stir against fee hike by private schools on July 14.

Led by senior socialist activists, they handed over a memorandum of their demands to Deputy Commissioner Anshaj Singh and demanded immediate action in the case.

The demands included cancellation of the FIR registered against the parents and other social activists, taking action against the police officer who ordered lathicharge on peaceful protesters, immediate withdrawal of the fee hike decision, and implementation of Section 158 and Rule 134-A of the Haryana Education Act.
