RAF men on standby in Faridabad

FARIDABAD: A battalion of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) has reached Faridabad as part of precautionary measures taken by the authorities to prepare for the possibility of floods in the district during rain.

A battalion of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) has reached Faridabad as part of precautionary measures taken by the authorities to prepare for the possibility of floods in the district during rain. Several villages in the district have been identified as flood prone.

A police spokesperson said a battalion led by Assistant Commandant Lal Chand Sharma was stationed in the Ballabgarh subdivision, which had a majority of flood-prone areas.

Five control rooms have been set up in the office of the SDM, Faridabad (0129-2227868), District Revenue Officer (0129-2227937), SDM, Ballabgarh (0129-2304400), SDM, Badkhal (0129-2422090) and Deputy Commissioner (0129- 2227272). — TNS
