Muktsar, July 14

Activists of some local organisations today started indefinite protest outside the DSP office, demanding the arrest of the remaining accused in the yesterday double murder case at Jawahrewala village here.

Earlier in the day, these organisations had blocked some roads in the town. They had even met the SSP, who assured them of the arrest of the remaining accused.

Two Dalits, a man and a woman, both from the same family were allegedly killed by Congressmen of upper caste following political rivalry yesterday. The police had booked 11 persons and arrested two of them, but remaining nine are yet to be arrested. The family of the deceased has refused to give their assent for the postmortem.
