Former Army man dies in road mishap

A person was killed after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a rashly driven truck near the HMT, Pinjore, on the Panchkula-Parwanoo Highway on Friday.

The victim has been identified as Virender Kumar, a native of Dhubbal Dhan village in Jhajjar district. At present, he was residing at the Police Colony in Kalka.

Vinay Kumar, in his complaint to the police, stated that his father, Virender, retired from the Army in 2007 and was appointed to the Haryana Police in 2012. His father was in the security of a lawyer in Panchkula.

Vinay said he received information that his father had met with an accident. He was rushed to the CHC, Pinjore, from where he was referred to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 where doctors declared him brought dead.

Vinay said he came to know from eyewitnesses that the truck bearing registration number HP64A8077 was being driven by Ajay Kumar, a resident of Dangiary village, falling in Solan district.

The Pinjore police have registered a case against truck driver Ajay Kumar under Sections 279 and 304-A of the IPC.
