Ludhiana, July 13
The preliminary round of the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India School Debate Competition 2019, Category I, was hosted by Sat Paul Mittal School.
The principal accorded a cordial welcome the judges of the competition, bilingual poet Parveen Sethi, Sahil Ghai, professor at Sri Aurobindo College of Commerce and Management, and Varinder Datta, faculty at the Ludhiana chapter of the ICAI and ICWAI. A total seven teams engaged in an impressive exchange of words on the topic “Effective democracy can only be possible with effective citizenship”.
Awal Joson from Malwa School, Giddarbaha, was adjudged the best speaker, while Simarleen Kaur from Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, was declared the first runner-up. Malwa School, Giddarbaha bagged the prize of best team, followed by Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, as the first runner-up team.
Bhupinder Gogia, principal of Sat Paul Mittal School, gave away prizes to the winners for outstanding performances.
