Class XI admissions: 1,375 allotted seats in skill stream

CHANDIGARH: A total of 1,375 students were allotted skill stream in the first round of counselling for admission to Class XI in 23 government senior secondary schools against a total of 1,660 seats.

A total of 1,375 students were allotted skill stream in the first round of counselling for admission to Class XI in 23 government senior secondary schools against a total of 1,660 seats.

Around 1,400 students applied for the stream. While conventional stream recorded a high cut-off in these schools with more than 85 per cent marks, the cut-off for skill stream remained high at only 60 per cent. For over 12 skill streams, the cut-off remained between 40 per cent and 30 per cent.

The highest cut-off was set by GMSSS, Mani Majra Complex, for shorthand (English), office procedures and practices stream (66 per cent), followed by GMSSS-22 for information technology, web application (65.8 per cent), GMSSS-32 for medical diagnostics, healthcare (59.2 per cent), and GMSSS-10 for food production, front office operations (50 per cent).

School-wise lowest cut-off was recorded for textile design, design stream (32.6 per cent), followed by tourism, food nutrition & dietetics stream (34.4 per cent), financial market management, cost accountancy (36.8 per cent), banking, insurance (36.6 per cent) and retail marketing (37.8 per cent).

Missed registration date? Apply in second counselling

The students, who have missed the last date of filling the registration forms for Class XI admissions, can submit the new registration form, along with registration fee, online on July 15. The candidates will have to submit the hard copy of registration forms till July 18. The display of list indicating allotment of school and stream will be displayed on July 25.
