Israeli passenger plane makes emergency landing in Sofia

SOFIA: An Israeli airplane made an emergency landing at Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport on Wednesday because of a suspected bird strike shortly after take-off, a Bulgarian transport ministry official said.

An Israeli airplane made an emergency landing at Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport on Wednesday because of a suspected bird strike shortly after take-off, a Bulgarian transport ministry official said.

The El Al’s Boeing 737-804 bound for Tel Aviv landed safely and passengers disembarked as normal, Hristo Hristov, head of the aircraft accident investigation unit at the ministry said. Reuters
