A team of cardiologists at the PGIMER successfully gave live transmission of a complex coronary angioplasty case to a group of eminent scholars at an interventional conference at Orlando in the US.
A large number of international audience witnessed the live demonstration which was transmitted from the catheterisation laboratory, Department of Cardiology, PGIMER. This was the 15th annual conference of Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) held at Orlando. The conference is one of the prestigious and recognised global interventional cardiology meetings in the world and is attended by nearly 1,500 international experts.
Prof Dr Rajesh Vijayvergiya with his team from the Cardiology Department performed a complex and technically challenging coronary angioplasty case. It was a case of left main coronary artery disease, which got blocked following stenting, a procedure performed by some other hospital nine months ago.
Prof Vijayvergiya commented that the cases of left main coronary angioplasty were technically challenging and required great technical expertise. The case was extensively discussed and appreciated well amongst the global experts, who were witnessing the live case.
