Amritsar, June 21

Two days after a youth’s murder in Rayya, the police have nabbed the suspects, identified as Gurjit Singh Babba and Ravinder Singh Ravi.

Amritsar (Rural) SSP Vikram Jit Duggal, while confirming the development, said Gurjit was also wanted in an attempt to murder case registered by the Beas police in May 2017.

Shamsher Singh was killed by Gurjit and Ravinder Singh near the Rayya dispensary. An old enmity is stated to be the reason behind the incident.

Varinder Singh, brother of the deceased, had informed the police that Shamsher had gone out of the house for some work. Near the dispensary, the accused attacked him and hit with a sharp weapon on his neck.—TNS
