Shemrock Senior Secondary School, Sector 69, and the Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) today honoured their students Gagandeep Singh for topping the fighter pilot course and Jasmehak Singh for the helicopter course.

Chairman Amarjit Singh Bajwa said the AFPI had successfully fielded six courses and contributed more than 119 cadets to the Indian armed forces.

He said at the passing-out parade at the IMA, 33 commissioned officers were from Punjab and 15 were from Shemrock-AFPI, Mohali.

Bajwa said 22 cadets had cleared the written exam for the NDA. The result was a combined effort of Shemrock Senior Secondary School and the AFPI as the school provided students with two-year rigorous training at the senior secondary level, he added.
