The district administration has announced to hold two mega job fairs in October and November to help youth find jobs under the state government’s ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ scheme. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vishesh Sarangal said the employment bureau opened at district level was proving to be a boon for unemployed.
He said the bureau had helped 2,434 youngsters get jobs. The online portal has witnessed registration of 19,826 youngsters and the government is providing skill training, placement opportunities and help for self employment, he added. Sarangal said many reputed companies would participate in the mega job fairs. He said the registration of labourers was being done by visiting labour chowks in city.
Deputy Director Employment Ramesh Chander Khulla said that a group of 40 students each day were informed about the working and facilities offered by the employment bureau daily. He said students from different colleges and other institutes were invited daily for the session. He also appealed to educational institutions to send their students to the bureau for getting advice of career counsellors. He said they had helped a total of 149 youngsters in availing finance facility from banks for self employment.
