Woman swindled of gold armlet

A four-member swindlers’ gang, including three women, took away gold armlet from a local woman fraudulently. The incident occurred three weeks ago and the police registered a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Tuesday.

The victim, Shanti Devi, is a retired teacher, who resides in Jandiala road area. She said that she was returning from morning walk and had just entered her street when a woman, who came out of a Swift car (PB38C3288), demanded a bottle of water. When she brought water bottle from her house and gave it to her, two more women came out of the car and hugged her. Shanti Devi said that after getting into the house, she found her armlet missing. She said there was a man sitting inside the car. The police are investigating the case.

Such cases are being regularly reported not only from across the state, but also from different parts of the country.
