Six teachers of Kurukshetra University (KU) have been issued chargesheet on different accounts and given 21 days to reply.

Prof Ajmer Malik of Public Administration and Dr Bhanu Pratap from Instrumentation Department are facing action for allegedly going on ex-India leave without permission.

Dr Karamvir Singh of the University Institute of Engineering and Technology and Dr Chandrakant of the Department of Computer Science are facing action over a matter related to checking of papers.

Jasbir Dhanda of Department of Biochemistry is facing the heat over allegedly withdrawing contingency fund of a research scholar.

Sushil Kumar, a teacher of a school on the KU campus, has been issued a chargesheet for tampering with records.

Anil Gupta, a member of the Executive Council, KU, said, “I opposed action against teachers who are chargesheeted for going abroad without taking permission. It should be viewed in the context that they had gone abroad for academic work only.”

Dr Sanjeev Sharma, president, KU Teachers Association, said, “The teachers are chargesheeted after inquiries. If any injustice is done, we will stand by the aggrieved party. We are with the teachers.” — TNS
