Srinagar, June 19
Eleven days after he was sacked, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches on the properties of Parvez Ahmad, former chairman of J&K Bank.
During the searches that were conducted at three locations, magistrates and police personnel accompanied ACB officials.
Ahmad was sacked by an order of the state government on June 8 over allegations of irregularities in appointments during his tenure of about two and a half years. His term was to complete after three years in October this year. At the same time, the government appointed RK Chhibber as an interim chairman and MD of J&K Bank and ordered a search committee to look for a suitable chairman to take over.
