Suicide case: Girl among 2 booked

Barnala, June 18

A day after a 17-year-old girl was found hanging at her house here, the police on Tuesday booked two persons for allegedly blackmailing and compelling her for suicide.

Deceased Arshdeep Kaur’s mother Bhupinder Kaur has accused Simmi and a boy of compelling her daughter to visit some unidentified location.

“My sister was under pressure from Simmi and a boy to visit some place. She did not want to visit that place and refused. On Monday, when my mother had gone to Ludhiana, she hanged herself with the fan in her room. Strict action must be taken against Simmi and boy,” said deceased’s sister Gagandeep Kaur.

ASI Maghar Singh said, “On Monday, the deceased’s mother did not have any doubt on someone. But on Tuesday, she accused a girl and boy of compelling her daughter for suicide.”— TNS
