Amritsar, June 18

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri has announced a new parking policy for Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport according to which private vehicles will not be charged fee for pick and drop.

It was a long pending demand of residents as the contractor hired by airport authorities had been charging heavily for picking and dropping the flyers.

Puri said, “I am delighted to announce that a new parking policy will be implemented at Sri Guru Ramdas Jee International Airport at the earliest. The Airport Authority of India has introduced a new policy wherein private vehicles will not be charged for picking or dropping passengers at the airports. Parking charges and slabs have also been rationalised. Tenders will be invited in the first week of July to ensure more convenience from September 2019”. — TNS
