Heavenly Palace celebrated Father’s Day with much exuberance and fanfare today.
The function started with a lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of trustees, advisors, General Manager and Deputy General Manager.
Senior residents were completely absorbed in the spirit of Father’s Day and were happy with the special attention being given to them.
Fun-filled activities such as skits, play, poems, songs and dance were organised in which residents of Heavenly Palace, staff, students of Margdarshan and kids of Heavenly Angels participated enthusiastically.
Maj-Gen Hemant Joneja (Retd), General Manager of Heavenly Palace, remarked that Father’s Day is an occasion for children, when they can express their gratitude to their father for his love, affection and protection.
“A father figure plays an important and dominant role in a family. He is the one without whom a child is unable to grow physically, mentally as well as financially. It is under his guidance and supervision that a child learns how to face the world boldly and take difficult strides with utmost ease. As father is a blessing of the Almighty for a child, it is the responsibility of every child to love, respect and look after him, especially during the autumn of his life,” he added.
The function ended with a vote of thanks by Advisor Prof VK Mehta.
Prof VK Mehta said “Just as Earth signifies mother, water signifies Father. Father, an important figure in one’s life, is like an umbrella, protecting us from sun, rain and trouble.”
A cake-cutting ceremony was also organised at the end of the function. Trustees Rajesh Narula, Neeru Sital, Anil Singhania and DGM Rajesh Khaneja were also present on this occasion.
