Shimla, June 16

The doctors in the state-run government hospitals today decided to wear black badges tomorrow in government hospitals in support with their agitating counterparts in West Bengal on issue of violence against doctors.

Responding to the strike call given by Indian Medical Association, apex body of medical professionals, Himachal Pradesh Medical Officers Association (HPMOA), Resident Doctors Association (RDA) of the IGMC and Government Medical College, Tanda, have joined hands with United Resident Doctors Association, which has supported IMA’s nation-wide call not to attend OPDs.

But there being holiday tomorrow there will be no OPDs in government hospitals. Hence, the doctors will wear black badges in protest, said Dr JN Chauhan, president, HPMOA. However, essential and pediatric services will be available. — TNS
